I am a Senior Research Associate in Statistics at the University of Bristol, UK. My expertise lies within domains of biostatistics and medical statistics, with extensive practice of high dimensional data sets. Developing and effectively applying machine learning techniques and data mining approaches for biomedical research, e.g. implementation of feature selection, classification and clustering algorithms, are a key strength of my research profile. I have a successful history of writing software commands for newly developed techniques, mainly using the R statistical programming, for which I have developed several packages publicly available from the the Comprehensive R Archive Network (CRAN), such as ‘propOverlap`, `ESKNN’ and `OTE’. I have a track record of developing web applications using the R package, `Shiny’ for research as well as teaching purposes (you can check out my personal website for further details: http://osmahmoud.com/Shiny/). I am delivering short-courses, developing training materials, providing statistical supervision and consultation for students and early-career researchers from a wide range of backgrounds. A list of delivered short-courses can be viewed from here: http://osmahmoud.com/R-courses. Apply now to experience Osama's course!
